JEE MAIN The Joint Entrance Examination, JEE (Main) comprises two papers. Paper 1 is for admission to Undergraduate Engineering Programs (B.E/B.Tech.) at NITs, IIITs, other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTIs), and Institutions/Universities funded/recognized by participating State Governments. it is also an eligibility test for JEE (Advanced), which is conducted for admission to IITs. Paper 2 is for admission to B. Arch and B. Planning courses in the country. NTA will conduct the exam as a Computer Based Test in 399 cities and 25 cities outside India.
Exam Pattern
In paper I, each subject will contain two sections. Section A will be of Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQs), and Section B will contain questions whose answers are as a numerical value. In Section B, candidates must attempt five questions out of 10. There will be a negative marking for Section B as well.In paper 2A, 20 questions will be MCQs, and 5 questions will have answers to be filled in as a numerical value out of 10. There will be a negative marking for numerical value.
The total number of questions will remain the same (Physics – 25, Chemistry – 25, and Mathematics – 25), wherever applicable. Candidates need to have a minimum of 75% marks for admission to NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs. For SC/ST candidates, the qualifying marks are 65% in Class 12/qualifying examination.

Candidates can check the syllabus for both Paper 1 (B.E./B.Tech) and Paper 2 (B.Arch/B, Plan) from NTA website. Refer to NCERT 12th and NCERT 11th to prepare the syllabus.
Application process for January session Starts from november . exam is in January while the IIT JEE Main second phase is in April.
