Soldiers make the foundation of any Army. Indian Army conducts Army GD Exam each year to choose contender for the post of officer general duty (GD).This is a magnificent chance for candidates who wish to join the Indian Army and serve the country.
The Indian Army selects Soldier for Soldier General Duty (GD) in two stages
STAGE 1 of Army GD Exam:
In this stage of selection process, candidates will have to go through following test at the Rally venue
- Physical Fitness Test (PFT)
- Medical Examination
- Document Verification
STAGE 2 of Army GD Exam :
Candidates qualifying Stage 1 appear for Stage 2. it will include
- Written Test also known as Common Entrance Examination (CEE).
- Merit List : Final Merit List is on basis of marks in both stage 1 and stage 2
Chosen candidates will get their joining letters and should report for Training, after which they will join the Indian Army as Soldiers General Duty (GD).They serve as battling troops, drivers administrators and heavy armament specialists for Infantry, Artillery, Armored Corps, Corps of Engineers or Army Air Defense. Or on the other hand took on Services like Army Service Corps (ASC), Army Ordnance Corps ( ASC ) and Army Medical Corps (AMC).
Indian Army Soldier GD Eligibility Criteria
Age : Unmarried male candidates of age 17 ½ to 21 Years
Educational Qualification : 10th with 45% aggregate marks and 33% marks in each subject. For boards following grading system, minimum of D grade (33-40 marks) in individual subjects or grade which contains 33% and overall aggregate of C2 grade.
Physical Qualification : Height (min.) – 170 cm, Weight (min.) – 50 Kg, Chest (min.)– 77 (+5 cm expansion).Relaxation in physical standards to candidates coming from North Eastern States and Union Territories of Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh.
Additional Relaxation might be granted to wards of service men/ex-servicemen/war widow and exceptional sports person.
Written Test : Candidates qualifying Stage 1 appear for Common Entrance Examination (CEE).The paper is Objective in nature and printed both in English and Hindi. It will consist of 50 Questions (2 Marks each) making total of 100 Marks in 1 hour. Paper has questions from four sections, Check the paper pattern below
- General Knowledge (15 Questions)
- General Science (15 Questions)
- Mathematics (15 Questions)
- Logical Reasoning (5 Questions)
